To opt out of the service you can use an online portal. that doesn't work, ( and hasn't worked since 11th November 2021 at least) or email them, which got an automated reply, hasn't got them to fix the portal and hasn't stopped me getting unsolicited mail - they say within one month of receipt to stop and its been 2 months and the details they have and sell on to companies is incorrect ( No I'm not interested in over 50's only insurance plans.
I'm not over 50 ) Update: was contacted by Read Groups Data Protection Office ( 1 month after this review, 3 months after reporting there opt out site doesn't work - note: it still doesn't work) they asked for all the details (again) and I received an automated reply saying "If you have requested removal from our databases REaD Group Ltd will action your request without undue delay in line with the principles of the Data Protection Act 2018 and within one month of receipt of this request.". so 4 month from the initial request?

3 years ago got letter from sun life do I want to be covered. They said they received my name and address from ReAdgroup so spoke to dodgy sabastian who said he will delete my name address that there selling. Then a year later another one legal and general so they said readgroup gave us your name and address so now it's going through a ICO hopefully they will sought these scammers out by the way sabastin is looking into it please note it's illegal for sun life or legal and general to share information but they don't mind buying information on you

Critical: Professionalism Admitted to selling my data to hundreds of firms without any consent. Now I fill bin bags every week with catalogues and deal with non stop marketing phone calls. ICO too busy to investigate. How is it possible that this continues with GDPR? We're such a soft touch in the UK on this law breaking.
